Essentially, dakshina is a disciple’s offering to the Guru and the inner Guru. It is an acknowledgement and expression of gratitude for the path that has flourished in the Guru’s grace.
Dakshina is a tribute and a way to honor the master after a period of study. Guru Purnima is considered to be the new year for spiritual seekers, making this an auspicious day for this loving exchange. From the disciple who is walking the path, to the spirit of wisdom which endlessly lights the way, let us give thanks.

"Move ahead in life feeling that you are blessed, and feel contented. Whenever we feel blessed, more comes. Abundance starts from within and then manifests on the outside. So you have plenty of blessings. Go with this feeling."
- Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar
